This Fair-Trade coffee is grown on one of many small plantations owned and operated by native Mayans who cherish the land and practice environmentally friendly methods much like their ancestors. Not only is this gourmet coffee Fair-Trade Certified, it is also organically grown; it remains gentle on the environment and beneficial to the farmers and the communities in which it is grown. More than 2,300 farmers and their families find their way of life in the growth and processing of this organic Central American coffee.
Each coffee tree is grown under shade trees; they mature slowly, locking in immense flavor as the coffee cherries ripen. The coffee beans are hand-selected and sun-dried before they are processed and exported. We lightly roast each batch to yield an invigorating taste and aroma; this full-bodied gourmet coffee is well-balanced and finishes with a crisp, clean essence.
